Only 3% of earth’s water is fresh and 2.5% of earth fresh water is unavailable and locked into polar ice caps, glaciers, atmosphere, soil; highly polluted; or lies too far under the earth’s surface to be extracted at an affordable cost. That leaves only 0.5% of earth’s water that is available and fresh. Hence it is very important to effectively use and recycle and reuse the water we have, and Ferric Chloride plays a very important role in that.
Ferric Chloride is used extensively outside India in drinking water treatment, wastewater treatment, sewage treatment and effluent treatment, however its use in India is still not as extensive. This is mainly due to lack of proper treatment plants, reliance on older technologies, lack technical knowhow etc. Chemfusion was started with the aim of truly establishing Ferric Chloride in India.
